A typical 4-day session. The number of hours is approximate.
Day One
7:00 – 10:30 am – Drive staff members to the school to ride the buses; help load luggage; drive the van and follow the buses to Camp Ramah.
10:30 – 11:00 am – Buses arrive and students go to the amphitheater to break into Trail Groups.
11:00 – 11:30 am – Meet with the high school counselors and do introductions.
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Lunch. Supervise students having lunch on the lower field.
1:00 – 2:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students moving into their cabins; be available for questions and problems.
4:30 – 5:30 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students; be available for questions and problems; go to each cabin to discuss specific rules and night-time procedures.
5:30 – 6:30 pm – Dinner. Supervise students in the dining hall.
6:30 – 7:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students as they get ready for the Evening Program.
8:00 – 9:00 pm – Campfire program at the amphitheater. Participate in the campfire and help supervise students.
9:00 – 10:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students; evening medications to the Nurse Station; "Lights Out" at 9:30; "Quiet Time" until 10 pm.
Total: 11 hours
Day Two
8:00 – 9:00 am – Breakfast. Supervise students in the dining hall.
11:30 am – 12:00 – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Lunch.
2:00 – 2:30 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
5:00 – 5:30 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
5:30 – 6:30 pm – Dinner. Supervise students in the dining hall.
6:30 – 7:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students as they get ready for the Evening Program.
7:00 – 9:00 pm – Assist with the Night Hike by setting up and teaching the telescope for groups to view.
9:00 – 10:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students; evening medications to the Nurse Station; "Lights Out" at 9:30; "Quiet Time" until 10 pm.
Total: 8 hours
Day Three
8:00 – 9:00 am – Breakfast. Supervise students in the dining hall.
11:30 am – 12:00 – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Lunch.
2:00 – 2:30 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
5:00 – 5:30 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students in the cabin areas and field.
5:30 – 6:30 pm – Dinner. Supervise students in the dining hall.
6:30 – 7:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students as they get ready for the Evening Program.
7:00 – 9:00 pm – Campfire. At the amphitheater, staff do skits, songs, and stories; students perform their cabin skits; staff participate and help manage the group. The Assistant Coordinator is the "Master of Ceremonies" and keeps control and flow of the skit schedule.
9:00 – 10:00 pm – Cabin Time. Supervise students; evening medications to the Nurse Station; "Lights Out" at 9:30; "Quiet Time" until 10 pm.
Total: 8 hours
Day Four
8:00 – 9:00 am – Breakfast. Supervise students in the dining hall.
10:30 – 11:00 am – Have students line up, count them, and assist in loading onto the buses.
11:00 am – 2:00 pm – Drive the van and follow the buses to the school; pick up staff at the school; get gas for the van; drive the staff back to Camp Ramah.
